Sun Conure
Sun Conures are one of the most beautiful types of conures, featuring a blend of rich and bold colors all over their body. They have dark red-orange highlights on their belly and cheeks, green color splashes over yellow, feathers on the wingtips are bluish, and the tail has both blue and green colors. They measure 12 inches on average and weigh 100-130 grams and have an average lifespan of 25-30 years. They are highly sociable and affectionate and require medium to large bird cages. They are also known for their screeching vocals, which can be heard when they welcome someone through the door or see someone arriving through the window.
Jenday Conure
Jenday Conures are similar to Sun Conures in both looks and personalities. They have a distinct coloration in the form of color bands, with yellowish heads, bright green wings, red-orange belly, and bluish-green tail. They measure 12 inches in total and weigh 100-130 grams. Their average lifespan is 25-30 years, and they require the same size bird cages as a Sun Conure. They are highly social and possess an active nature and are acrobatic and love performing tricks in their cages. They also have striking vocals that aren't as distinctive as larger Macaws.
Nanday Conure
Greenwing Macaws are attractive due to their combination of blue, green, and red colors on their wings. Unlike Scarlet Macaws, they have red feather lines running across their face and can live an average of 60-80 years. They need bigger cages and mature four to five years after birth. Pet owners use chew toys to distract and calm them.
Green Cheek Conure
The Green Cheek Conure is similar to Maroon Bellied Conures in that they have green color all over the body, grey breasts and maroon tails, primary wing feathers are bluish, and their cheeks are also green. Mutations are common when raised in captivity, and the average lifespan is 15 years. They are 10 inches in length and require proper bar-spaced cages. They are quiet and friendly, but love attention, making them suitable as pets for apartments, large homes, and all types of families.
Peach Fronted Conure
The Peach Fronted Conures have green coloration on their upper body, greyish-green breasts, light green over their belly, black tips on their wings, blue and green tail, bright orange crown with blue sides, and black beak. They are 10 inches in length and weigh 105 grams and have an average lifespan of 25-30 years. They are suitable for all types of homeowners and are quiet and don't produce screeching sounds.
Maroon Bellied Conure
The Maroon-Bellied Conures are small and green-colored birds with a greenish-yellow band of color on their breasts. Their primary flight feathers are green-blue, and their tail is light maroon from under and green from the top. Their ears have brownish patches over them.
